This February I went on a trip around Europe. Very few people have seen my pictures because: a) I took 2000 and organizing them all would take a couple days and, b) I lost one memory card and had about 4-5 hundred corrupted. So, I’ve been searching through the pile and picking out the best picture that represents where I have been. Today is obviously Rhodes.
On my trip, I think I traveled every other day to a new place, it was probably the most exhausting trip of my life. I didn’t think it was possible for someone to cram loads of information and see hundreds (I actually don’t doubt I saw thousands, but we’ll keep it believable) of sites all in 22 days, but my family did it. My dad is a little crazed when we travel, he wants to make sure we experience everything there is to see in any city we stumble upon. Even though I threw up for hours of being sea-sick, got 6 hours of sleep every night, crammed homework in and slept on trains when we could, every second was worth it. I have seen parts of the world that people have no idea existed. Every time I step off that plane and I look at whats around me, I’m blow away each time.
So anyway, BACK to the picture. This was taken climbing up the side of a hill in Rhodes, Greece. All the houses there were white with orange or red roof tops. It was absolutely beautiful there. I walked up the hill past a blossoming tree with pink flowers and saw a valley of white houses and markets. I wanted to include the tree because the pink was so vibrant, I loved the contrast between it and the houses in the background. I actually cranked the vibrancy in this picture to bring out the flowers even more and tinted it blue, to tone it down a bit and make the houses white again. Every time I look at this picture, it puts me back in that spot and I just can’t get over how breath taking it was.
