One Rose For One Year 08/07/23 1208 views

Well, if you all didn't know, I recently celebrated my one year with Aaron. Our one year was on July 14th. We met in June of last year, over msn. His older brother worked with me in East Side Mario's and he wanted me to meet his younger brother, for he was very into digital photography. I had just recently received my first SLR camera and needed help working it, using photoshop and basically learning everything I needed to know about digital photography.

I didn't want to add him as a friend on msn; I thought the situation would be awkward and we'd fade away into each others contact list. I finally worked up the courage to add this boy named Aaron, for I didn't want to seem like that creepy photography nut hunting down everyone who owned a camera. He was very nice and understanding about the matter and we talked for a couple of hours, joking around about our experiences and went to bed. He didn't seem like he was interested in me, which sparked a chase in my head. We soon started talking almost every single day and I wanted to meet this boy who I got along with so well. And, I know what your thinking, NEVER MEET UP WITH SOMEONE YOU MEET OVER THE INTERNET! But, I went through it all in my head. I knew a nice young boy from work who wanted me to meet his younger brother, I don't think he would give me the email of some perv trying to lure girls in. Though, that's not what my little sister thinks; She had this crazy idea in her head that Aaron and his brother had this diabolical plan to date girls and one by one kill them off. Aaron would change interests every time to match the new girl that his brother met. Haha and at the one year mark they would die. I guess I'm still here, so maybe it'll be the two year mark…

Anyway, I decided we should go on a little photography date, I know very dorky, but whatever, I didn't want to go on an official date, I didn't know what he looked like and I didn't know how he was in person. I'm not one to go on blind dates.

So we met up in Brooklin and went around taking pictures, making small talk and becoming more comfortable with each other. Soon it felt like more of a date, as I was starting to really like him, but tried to hold back anything in case he wasn't interested. The day was amazing and I wanted to see him again. We talked after that day and quickly realized we both really liked each other and decided to go on an official date. But there was a problem, he was moving to Oakville, which was across the city and it would be difficult to get into a relationship with him. Later on I figured out that he lives about 20 min away from my dad's house which I visit every other weekend. So, on July 14th, we went on our first date, driving around, getting lost and eating large amounts of Chinese food.

The date was perfect and of course we are still together now a year later. He arrived at my door with one rose to signify our one year anniversary. He took me to the peer in Oakville and set up a picnic on the hill overlooking the sail boats, it was beautiful. We promised to not spend any large amounts of money on each other so there were no gifts, just spending time together. He later took me out to a restaurant called Axia, which was one of my favourites and enjoyed real Chinese food, better than Ho Lee Chow. All in all, it was an amazing one year anniversary and an amazing year.
